The valves and seats had seen better days so out came the Scotch-Brite, E85 and some brass wire to give everything a thorough clean. Valve cleaning process:
Not much to report as I've been busy working 7 days. Only time I get some day light is usually on sunday afternoons! Ended up separating the head from the block and pulled it apart to see the condition of it as I will be rebuilding it anyway. Wasn't very pleased with what I found:
I like small Japanese cars. My old man likes muscle cars and big motors. He told me that it would be nothing but a pipe dream to get a 4cyl Civic to go fast (a benchmark of 12s 1/4 mile) without spending big dollars. This build was created to prove him wrong.
